Dear Members and Potential Members of The Spa City Paletteers,

As the 2010-2011 Season concludes, the Spa City Paletteers Art Club is focusing on a successful and exciting year ahead, with the theme, "HISTORY COMES ALIVE THROUGH ART."

In the fall, our monthly club meetings and refreshments, always on the third Wednesday of the month October through April at 9:30 a.m.  until 12:00 noon will continue at the hospitable Corkill Palms Clubhousee, 17640 Corkill Road, Desert Edge (East of Desert Hot Springs, off of Dillon Road). "FAMILY HISTORY COMES ALIVE THROUGH ART," will be our first club meeting on October 19th, 2011.  Bring your pictures, artwork, or a story to share of the inspiration you received from someone in your family.

Our theme will include "OLD TOWN AMERICAN HISTORY OF ART," with the Desert Hot Springs, Mayors Award; "THE HISTORY OF ART ON GOURDES," a centuries old Indian art form; "INSPIRATION FROM THE ART HISTORY OF CZECHOSLOVAKIA AND ROMANIA," portrayed in pen and ink; "THE ART HISTORY OF CABOT YERXA COMES ALIVE," with an "ART AND MUSIC IN THE PARK," event at Cabot's Pueblo Museum.  Some of Cabot's Art will be displayed at our annual Ribbon Award and Art Critique on March 14, the second instead of the third Wednesday of the month next year.  Opportunities for Workshops, Pleine Aire, and Photography, including The Spa City Tour and Friendship Luncheons will continue.  The details are being confirmed to display our art at some locations in the area.

Visit our blog at http://spacitypaleteers.blogspot.com/  We are a group of people who love art like you do.  Most of us are amateurs who do it for our own enjoyment and to give to our family members for keepsakes.  For only $20.00 a year, you are provided wonderful demonstrations by professionals in the desert.  By attending only two meetings as a member, you have the opportunity to submit your paintings into the Ribbon Award  Art Show and Critique Luncheon for a learning experience with the rest of the club members and friends.

It will be our privilege to see you again next year or have you join us as new members and have the shared pleasure of friendships with those who love the many forms of art available.  Have a wonderful and inspiring summer,

Marjorie Snell

ANNUAL ART CRITIQUE**** Art Displayed below**** SPEAKING FOR EACH OF US, WE WOULD LIKE TO EXPRESS OUR GRATITUDE AND APPRECIATION FOR THE SUPPORT OF EACH ART CLUB MEMBER WHO CONTRIBUTED SO GENEROUSLY OF YOUR TIME, TALENT, TICKET SALES AND CONTRIBUTIONS. THE RIBBON AWARD AND ART CRITIQUE LUNCHEON WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN SUCCESSFUL WITHOUT EACH OF YOU WHO ASSISTED IN EVERY WAY AS WELL AS JUST BEING THERE AND BRINGING YOUR FRIENDS. WE KNOW THAT MANY OF YOU MAY HAVE PUT MORE INTO A SILENT AUCTION ITEM THAN IT MAY HAVE BEEN BID AND WON FOR OR PAID MORE THAN SOMETHING MAY HAVE BEEN IN VALUE, AND THAT IN ITSELF WAS A GENEROUS CONTRIBUTION OF YOUR EFFORT AND SUPPORT. THE PRESENT FINANCIAL ADVANTAGE TO THE CLUB IS APPROXIMATELY $1100.00 FROM TICKET SALES, SILENT AUCTION AND 50/50 SALES. AS A NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION, THIS AMOUNT WILL BE SPENT WISELY TO CONTINUE TO PROVIDE YOU WITH EXCELLENT OPPORTUNITIES TO LEARN FROM PROFESSIONAL GUEST ARTISTS, DEMONSTRATIONS, WORKSHOPS, AND SCHOLARSHIPS. YOUR FRIENDLY WELCOME TO OUR GUESTS, THE BEAUTY IN YOUR ART, CONTRIBUTIONS FOR DOOR PRIZES AND SILENT AUCTION ITEMS EXCEEDED THE FINANCIAL GAIN BY BEING REPRESENTATIVE OF A PROFESSIONAL ORGANIZATION THAT IS BECOMING WELL RECOGNIZED BY OUR COMMUNITIES. WE LOOK FORWARD TO AND ANTICIPATE AN EXCELLENT YEAR AHEAD AS SOME WONDERFUL NEW IDEAS AND EVENTS PROGRESS. IF YOU WILL BE LEAVING BEFORE OUR LAST CLUB MEETING OF THE SEASON, ON APRIL 20, WE WISH YOU SAFE TRAVELING WITH ANTICIPATION TO OUR FIRST MEETING WHEN YOU RETURN, ON OCTOBER 20, 2011. SEE YOU THEN AND HAVE A WONDERFUL SPRING AND SUMMER. APPRECIATIVELY YOURS, THE SPA CITY PALETTEER CLUB OFFICERS, MARGE, PAT, LAVERNE, JEAN, AND CHERYL
